Community outreach with Spanish Training For Departments

9-1-1 dispatchers in the USA should be required to take this training

I am a 9-1-1 dispatcher in Texas and was so scared to learn Spanish. Then I took your training and feel so good about the way I communicate in Spanish with my callers. I have renewed the training to keep practicing. I notice if I do not practice I forget but with your reasonable renewal rate, it is easy to stay on top of it. Every dispatcher in the USA should take this training and become comfortable with the Spanish language.

I would rate the law enforcement Spanish course 9.99

I would rate the course 9.99 Here's why: 1. Right from the start the instructions were easy to understand and the lessons were well paced. This made it easy to get started. 2. The units got right to the heart of the Spanish that police officers need to know. We didnt have to begin with numbers, colors, days of week and other basics that are boring ( but necessary) to a police officer. We got to those things in later units. The quick access into police situations made the course more interesting. 3. The lessons reinforced the previous session and the units then built on themselves, building my understanding and use of the language. 4. The course has the correct amount of information presented in a reasonable amount of time. I am certain that you can see that I took the final exam at 16 hours and 33 minutes. But, I had taken Spanish classes 45 years ago, so I was familiar with many terms, pronunciation and sentence structure. 20 hours is exactly what a student needs. 5. Upon completion of the course I feel confident in my ability and know that I can rely on continued support into November of this year.

Spanish for dispatchers

I enjoyed the class overall. I would rate it at an 8. The one thing that frustrated me was the alert words on the unit review and unit test; some of the words that were tested were not mentioned until many units later. So in essence, you were listening for words you didn't know the meaning of. Possibly the randomizer code should to be written so that it only uses words that have previously been gone over in the units reviewed up to that point.
