It's a great course, it is just ALOT. I felt like there were too many little test with a long test for each unit. It took me three days to complete this course and I just feel burnt out on it.
The structure and diversity of activities are great.
To be completely honest, this course helped me understand a lot of basic Spanish. I took 2-3 Spanish classes in high school but immediately forgot the material once I graduated. I do see a need for police officers to be bilingual or at least have a basic understanding of what is being said. Especially in Texas, where the majority of the demographics are Hispanic individuals. This course was basic, but it was thorough enough that the material sticks with you. During patrol, I think I will be able to pick up more once I can actually apply what I've learned. Right now, I don't use Spanish every day.
I appreciated the course. Gave me quite a bit of confidence
I would give the course a 9 out of 10 only. I have tried to learn Spanish before (H.S., Army, college, Rosetta stone, and most recently Duolingo). I love how this course was tailor made for law enforcement. I think I learned an awful lot over the course. My problem is that if I don't use it, I lose it. I will recommend this course to any of my officers that are serious about learning Spanish. It was not an easy course but I feel like they will get out of it, what they put into it!
